Interactive Activities
Mrs. Hartanov knows many stories with important life lessons, and they have a way of sticking in your mind. One that I may remember for the rest of my life is the toothpaste activity. Mrs. Hartanov had someone squeeze out a tube of toothpaste onto a piece of paper. Then she asked someone else to put the toothpaste back in. He couldn't. Then she explained. Toothpaste is like our words. If we say something mean, it is like the toothpaste coming out. We can't put the words back in our mouth. You might be able to take some hurt back by apologizing, but some words will still be left and might take someone some time to heal. Then she applied it to our lives. Whenever someone is about to say something mean, just tell them to remember the toothpaste.
