This was the third week, and it was filled with fun. This week we had a lot of fun in science. We did 3 activities, and a fourth was extra credit. It was so much fun!  During writing, we wrote books of poetry. We covered diamontes, quatrains, haikus, and limericks. During reading, we read some more of Maniac Magee.  It is a very good book. In Vocab, we finished Unit 2, words 1-10 and began 11-20. It was finished with a half-day. What a great week!

The second week has just been wrapped up. We started reading Maniac Magee, and it is a very interesting and gripping book. When we finished our chapters today we all were dismayed. We had SIX tests this week, four of them on friday. A new girl joined our class this week as well. Now there are 22 people in our class. See you next week!

This week in Bible, we did a study on James. We learned that we are not supposed to show favoritism, we are supposed to put action behind our words, and to make sure not to hurt anyone with your words.  In reading, we did various activities involved with Julie of the Wolves and/or the Cay. We made crossword puzzles, 3-D replicas of their shelter, and took a test on our books. In vocab we played Charades and took a test. In science we read about different types of rock and the rock cycle. We also did math place values and exponents.

I am sorry we don't have any class photos at the moment, but as soon as I get some I will post!

The first half week we set up our desks and made rules.  We learned about each other and began our work. I think we are all very excited.

We took a few survays, learned about Mrs. Hartanov, and applied for jobs in "H'ville", as we call it. We started our vocab, and took a quiz on the books we read over the summer. Come back next week to see what we did!
